ABOVE ONLY DEVOTIONAL JANUARY 11 2018 REJOICE IN CHRIST
Date: Thursday, JANUARY 11
Topic: Rejoice in Christ
For we [Christians] are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit and by the Spirit of God and exult and glory and pride ourselves in Jesus Christ, and put no confidence or dependence [on what we are] in the flesh and on outward privileges and physical advantages and external appearances. *for I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.
How would you feel and behave right now if you were aware that you had received a large quantity of something special that you have desired for a very long time; something that you know you need to be joyful, fruitful and fulfilled in a certain area of your life? I am glad to let you know, child of God, that you have that very thing in you because you have Christ in you. Rejoice like someone who has received that very thing because you have it because you have Christ. Our first text above confirms that we exult, glory and pride ourselves in Jesus Christ and that we put no confidence in who we are in the physical. So many believers are not joyful, full of faith and walking in God’s fulness because they are being weighed down by what they feel they have or do not have in the physical. However, Beloved, because of Christ, you have all things and all things are possible for you.
In the Amplified Bible, our 2nd text above says, “I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am selfsufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].” In Christ, God has ‘given’ you all things that pertain to life and godliness, 2Pet.1:3. In Christ, God has ‘blessed’ you with all spiritual blessings, Esays that He is on your side and He has promised that just as He did not withhold Christ from you, together with Christ, He will freely give you ‘all things’, Rom.8:31-32. Rejoice! All things are possible for you. Rejoice in the reality of your abundance and sufficiency in Christ.
FAITH DECLARATION: In Christ, I have God’s abundance for all my desires. I am empowered to succeed and so I celebrate and I rejoice.
