Topic: Celebrate Jesus!

Matthew 2:1-2, 10-11

Now when Jesus was born …. there came wise men ..to Jerusalem, …saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have .. come to worship him. *When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

The wise men who worshipped Jesus in our text above did not really recognize who Jesus was. If they had, they would have worshipped Him even much more. They worshipped Him as the King of the Jews. But Jesus is so much more than just the King of the Jews. He is your King and my King. He is the King of Kings and He is the Lord of Lords. He is the Alpha and Omega. He is the same yesterday, today and forever, Heb.13:8. He is the Son of God and His name is higher than every other name in Heaven, on earth and beneath the earth, Phil.2:9-10. There is absolutely no one like Him.

Today is a great opportunity for you to worship Jesus like never before. Express to Him all that He is to you. What Jesus did for you and for me is completely unimaginable. To humble Himself to the point of sacrificing all of His glory and coming down to this earth to be born as a man and again to give up His life for us to be saved is simply mind blowing. We will never fully comprehend this with our human reasoning. This undeserved love, grace and sacrifice that He made for us, even when we did not deserve it, is something we simply cannot understand except by divine revelation, Eph.3:17-19.

But in our love and appreciation to Him for these amazing things He has done, we can worship, honour and celebrate Him today like never before. We can talk about His love and goodness to us. We can focus on His love, power and glory and give Him all of the glory, honour and praise that He deserves with all of our hearts.

Thanksgiving Prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I worship, I honour and I celebrate you today. From eternity to eternity, you shall be praised.
