Topic: The Christ-Centered Life 2

Text: Philippians 1:19-22 (NLT)

For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance. For I fully expect and hope that I will never be ashamed, but that I will continue to be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past. And I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die. For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really don’t know which is better.

When you have a Christ-centered life, your greatest joy will be knowing Him, becoming more like Him and helping others do the same, no matter what it may cost you. The meaning of your life will be to bring glory to Christ. Doing the foregoing will become what gives you your greatest joy and satisfaction in life. Even the things you are going through will be working out for your utmost good; which is becoming more like Christ, Rom.8:28-29. You will be so victorious and unstoppable indeed. Don’t you wonder sometimes if Apostle Paul really wrote most of his letters, like the book of Philippians, from a prison cell? That is the kind of glorious and victorious attitude that having a Christcentered life can give to you.

Everything about your life and your messages will be focused on Christ and the things God has done for us through Christ, just like Apostle Paul’s life and messages were. Serving God and preaching the gospel will become more real and personal to you. It will no longer be a religious activity but a joyful opportunity to serve God and help others receive and live the glorious life of Christ that you have received and are living.

You will realize that everything you do will help spread the gospel of Christ. In Philippians 1:27-29 (GNB), Apostle Paul said, now, the important thing is that your way of life should be as the gospel of Christ requires, so that, whether or not I am able to go and see you, I will hear that you are standing firm with one common purpose and that with only one desire you are fighting together for the faith of the gospel. When our lives are really Christ-centered, we will be more united and our focus will be on allowing Christ alone to take all the glory.

Prayer Focus:

Heavenly Father, give me grace to become more Christ-centered everyday and may my life bring glory to Christ at all times.
