ABOVE ONLY DEVOTIONAL DECEMBER 17 2017 CELEBRATE ABUNDANT MERCIES AND GRACE

Above only devotional

Date: SUNDAY DEC 17

Topic: Celebrate Abundant Mercies and Grace

Text: Lamentations 3:22-23, Isaiah 63:7 (NLT)

It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. *I will tell of the Lord’s unfailing love. I will praise the Lord for all he has done. I will rejoice in his great goodness to Israel, which he has granted according to his mercy and love.

Message:

I am sure you will agree with me that everything you survived and achieved this year was not because of your righteousness, holiness, good works, faithfulness, qualifications, wisdom or connections. It was all by the mercies and the grace of God. It was all because God chose, in His grace and mercy, to treat you according to that grace and mercy. It was because His goodness and mercies followed you all the days of this year. It was because of Christ and the abundant grace and mercy that the sacrifice of Christ has made available for you.

For this, our God deserves our heartfelt praise, worship, adoration and thanksgiving today. From your heart, acknowledge His grace and mercies upon your life, family, the church and our nation and bless His name right now. Realize how favoured, blessed and loved you are. Consider what could have been if the Lord had not been on your side in those terrible situations. Thank God for choosing you to be a recipient of His grace and His mercies. Thank God for not treating you according to your sins and mistakes but according to His mercies and His grace. Thank Him for lavishing His love and kindness upon us all.

You may not have experienced or achieved all that you desire yet; but that doesn’t mean that you have not experienced God’s grace and mercies this year, so worship and thank Him for His grace and His mercies that you have experienced. Remember, this year is not yet over. By the same grace and mercies you have experienced so far, God will still bless and surprise you this year!

Prayer Focus:

I thank you, God of Wonders, for the abundant love, mercies and grace that You have greatly lavished on me.
